Skolintroduktion av nyanlända elever i grundskolan

This essay is a study about the school introduction of Immigrant pupils in the Swedish compulsory school. The purpose if this study is to examine the organisation municipal school introduction for Immigrant pupils in the compulsory school in Södertälje. The method I have used is qualitative research method which depends on interviews and analysis of documents.The result shows that the municipal is without a plan for the school introduction of the Immigrant pupils and that the individual compulsory school has the main responsibility for the school introduction of the Immigrant pupils. The result also shows that there is a need of increased teaching of mother tongue. There is also a need of competence development within intercultural pedagogy.My conclusions are that a municipal plan for the school introduction of Immigrant pupils should increase the Immigrant pupils? possibility to a shorter time of introduction to the compulsory school..

The purpose of my work is to study what attitude pupils with immigrant background as well as native pupils have towards the subject Physical Education (PE). An other purpose with my work is to contribute in a way that all newly graduated PE teachers think of making the subject PE to a subject that all pupils regardless gender or background can get advantage of.During the whole work I compare pupils with immigrant background to native pupils and boys to girls. The reason why I compared boys to girls is that I want to study how satisfied girls are compared to boys when it has to do with the subject PE. I consider that boys take more and more space in PE lessons.The method I have used is both interviews and surveys. I chose a school in Stockholm.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the knowledge in biology by Immigrant pupils. The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers in primary schools experience the situation of teaching newly arrived Immigrant pupils in their regular classes and also how they plan their teaching for these pupils. The empirical study did intend to answer the following two questions; how do teachers experience the situation of teaching newly arrived Immigrant pupils in their regular classes? How is teaching of newly arrived Immigrant pupils in regular classes being formed? A qualitative method was used in the form of interviews with five primary school teachers from two different schools. The overall perspective I have assumed in this study is the sociocultural perspective, but I have also taken up a second language perspective and an intercultural perspective. All the teachers in the study have described their experiences of teaching newly arrived Immigrant pupils in terms of difficult, tough and demanding at the beginning, but nowadays somewhat easier.

This essay is a study about school success for Immigrant pupils whose ages are between 16 and 19 years when they arrive to Sweden.The purpose of this study is to examine pupils difficulties in the school and the faktors which affect their success in the school and even possibilities which they can be offered by the school.This research carried out at two upper secondary schools in the municipality of ?Södertälje?. The method which I have used is a qualitative research method which depends on interviews.The results of the research shows pupils difficulties and the different faktors which influence their success in the school.My conclusions are that these pupils have many difficulties and to reach a successful schooling, the shcool have to give these pupils a variety of possibilities which builds with pupils self possibilities a foundation for a good and successful schooling.The research also shows that the both schools are not giving enough possibilities to these pupils. The education system in these schools doesn?t fits for multi ? lingual pupils.

The background to this study is built upon the results that emerged from our former study: Elever med svenska som andraspråk i mångkulturella skolor - Bakgrundsfaktorer Tester och Utredningar (Odén och Bagge, 2006). Those results made us aware of the lack of cooperation in the work around Immigrant pupils with special needs. In this study we have therefore chosen to look at the cooperation processes. The aim that we agreed upon was to explore the intercultural cooperation process around a few Immigrant pupils in school year F-5, before and in connection with the pupils possible registration in the special school. We also wanted to pay special attention to the roll that the special need teachers played.

This research paper has examined how three teachers in a Swedish state secondary school adapt their teaching to Immigrant pupils aged 13 to16 who have recently arrived in the country. The study is based on observation in the classroom and interviews with the teachers. The study showed that all the teachers adapted their teaching methods in the different subjects by actively working with language development during their lessons. The methods employed included explaining words and definitions, using visual methods of teaching and setting frequent written exercises. In this way the pupils developed their language skills whilst covering the subject coursework.

Kommunikation mellan den äldre invandraren och undersköterskor på äldreboenden

The study aims to examine the communication between older immigrants and nurses at several nursing homes.Emphasis has been placed on clarifying both parties? experience of communication regarding the older immigrant?s idiomatic difficulties. The following questions were used in the creation of the study: How does the older immigrant communicate with the personnel at a nursing home? How does the older immigrant enjoy their residence at the nursing home? How do language difficulties influence the older immigrant?s possibility to express their self?In the study eight qualitative interviews were made with four older immigrants who lives in nursing homes and four nurses working in a nursing home. The survey shows that the overall problem in the communication is the older immigrant?s lack of language.

The focus of the study will lie on ten Swedish articles and how they stereotype immigrants, but the demarcation will be for young immigrant boys related to crimes. Matematik och flerspråkighet : När invandrarelever lyckas

The aim of this paper is to investigate and analyze practices in multilingual classrooms of mathematics in a compulsory school in Sweden where immigrant students have been known to succeed. The school is situated in a suburban and segregated area outside a major city where pupils come from mainly limited socio-economic backgrounds. The rate of second language learners are 70% of all pupils in this school.By using ethnographic methods, mainly interviews and participant observation, data was collected in four mathematics classrooms which corresponded to consecutive ages of education. The data include field notes and observation of artifacts in the environment as well as interviews and informal conversations with teachers and school leadership. Information from the school website, the authority in charge of quality in Swedish schools (Skolverket) and the municipality were also used.The analysis is based on a socio-political viewpoint that power is relational and reflected within schools.

AbstractWhat do the pupils really learn in school? What do the pupils know before they begin schooland what knowledge do they have when they graduate form 5 and should have achieved thegoals? I chose to interview some pupils in the end of nursery school and some pupils in theend of form 5. To limit myself I chose the subject space, because I think most pupils thinkthat space is an interesting subject. The result of my examination was that pupils in nurseryschool have many different thoughts and previous knowledge about space, often on the basisof what they have seen themselves, and that some of the pupils in form 5 have some moredeveloped knowledge while some pupils still got the skill as a nursery school pupil. Myexamination shows that some pupils have learned surprisingly little, bearing in mind that theyhave been in school for five years..
